[image of qasim missing] In the couple of weeks since I last dropped word your way a lot has been happening over here in Toronto - gearing up for another session of Dishoom tonight here in the city, as well as our final sessions of the Indian Electronica Festival in Delhi and Mumbai this December.

Taking our humble Festival to India is a huge undertaking and I'd really like to thank everyone involved in the process here and now - including our Advisory Committee and Planning Teams plus all the performers on the roster for Delhi and Mumbai as well as previous sessions this year in Toronto, New York and London, as well as anyone who listens to our podcasts and radio stream, our website members and those of you who drop me an email here and there to just say hey!

India's social culture is developing exponentially and I can't wait to check out some of the well reputed new lounges and restaurants in New Delhi and Mumbai! It will also be a great experience to meet all of the artists based in the country making the music we love @ IE - I'm still so pleasantly shocked with how many artists applied to perform @ our sessions over there... to those who we weren't able to program this year, my apologies - its my first time putting this together in India and we'll hopefully have more capacity next year :) .

I urge you all to spread the word about our fantastic events detailed below and hope to see some of you at them!

Oh, and if you are in the NYC area and can't make it to Dishoom in Toronto tonight, make it a point to hit up Avaaz's BPM party - will be slammin' :)

Oh, and a last note - to all fans of Cheb i Sabbah - he's coming out with another fantastic album on Six Degrees (Devotion) on January 29th and we'll have a review online soon; I gave it my first spin today and wow, Chebiji - you've worked your magic once again my friend!

Venue: The 2007 Indian Electronica Festival: Delhi will be held at Kuki - a new spot located in Greater Kailash II.

Kuki
E 7, Greater Kailash II,
Masjid Moth Commercial Complex
Phone: 29225241

Kuki's website: http://www.kuki.in/

Here's some info about it from delhilive.com:

"Delhi’s nightlife is all set to split at the seams with hip clubs waiting to throw open their gates. Kuki is a brand new but very welcome addition to Delhi’s lagging club circuit, Kuki infact is a chic club-cum-lounge. Kuki, a funky three leveled space in Greater Kailash II brings sexy back with its mod interiors and groovy electro music and is drawing Delhi’s rich and famous people in droves; expect to shake a leg with some famous names when you are there.

It’s raining butterflies at Kuki. Large red, Plexiglas ones, suspended from the very high ceiling, printed on the walls, waiters’ uniforms and coasters. The theme only makes sense when you learn that Kuki means “orgasm” in German. The butterflies at Kuki symbolize a free-floating feeling you experience once you are inside."

Admission: Tickets will be available @ the door the night of the event (no pre-sale).
