Midival Punditz - Hello Hello

This is the third full-length album from the Midival Punditz.  Unlike 'Midival Punditz' and 'Midival Times' which came before it, 'Hello Hello' strays from the sound that typifies the Punditz.  Of course, a band doesn't need to always sound the same in order to maintain artistic integrity, but its obvious that many fans of theirs will have to give this disc a few spins before hearing that its indeed by the Punditz and exemplary of their musical development as producers over the past few years.

A while back I noted feeling that I witnessed vast developments in an artist's sound between albums when reviewing Karsh Kale's 'Broken English.' Being a close friend and collaborator with the Punditz, I'm sure they've influenced each other over the past few years since their last full studio album release in 2005.

You can see Karsh Kale's fingerprints on this release and his co-production/songwriting will be welcomed by Asian Massive fans - Electric Universe is a rich track which opens and closes the album (the second version being a stripped-down clean vocal'n'guitar affair) and comes off as a hidden track we all missed from his 'Broken English' release last year.

Stylistically this disc ranges from rock-fueled dhol-laden electro (ref 'Atomizer') to a sort of Nouveau Bollywood (ref 'Desolate.') A couple of surprises are thrown in the mix as well - most notably; 'Four Sticks' - Led Zepplin's 1971 release re-worked perfectly.

This album is definately worth checking out; it has some classic Punditz pieces exhibiting the sound fans of them are familiar with ('Naina Laagey,' 'Sun mere Sanam' and 'Har Ek Baat'), as well as a host of varied tracks that hallmark the forefront of India's electronic music scene and showcase the talent of these excellent producers.

Hello Hello

The review here is fair.....but I love this album! There is a rock influence on a few tracks, more obvious in some than others and always quite subtle. I left rock behind many years ago when I discovered all this global groove music and fortunately Hello Hello isn't rock enough to annoy me; it simply has a flavour that adds something new to the Punditz' sound.

Drifting

I wish this song went on for at least 15 more minutes ... it's that good!!!

Sun Mere Sanam

i have heard this song Sun Mere Sanam ten times and its amazing. I just love it like other songs of India.
